Activity Cafe Opening 16th September 2025

We are very please to say that we will now be opening an Activity Café at the Spencer Denney Centre on Tuesday mornings 9:30-12:30. This will function like any other café with us serving teas, coffees and small savory and sweet bites, although you won’t be able to get you the range of coffees you would see in Starbucks or Costa we do have a small coffee machine that can do a basic, cappuccino, latte, espresso or americano and we can cater to those who are non-dairy. The café will be seated in our comfy lounge without a lot of background noise, echo’s or other distractions that make it hard to hear and be heard.

We will be getting out,  jigsaws, card games such as Uno, Scrable and other board games that you are free to use. We can also put the jigsaws aside for  you to compelte over a number of weeks. 

We have invited the Artful hub to lead an art activity on the 3rd Teusday fo the month that you can join in. As the materials do this aren’t free to us we will be charging a small amount for each session.  Each month will be a different craft or activiy including things like Squeegee Art, fluid art. They have so many different things for you to try that you could come for a year and not do the same thing. If you’d like to find out more then come to our opening on the 16th of September and find out wah thtey have coming up.

You can just turn up but also book in for the craft.  If there is something you’d like to try that isn’t listed then pelase talk with the Artful Hub and us and we can see if we can find someone who can. We are looking to recruit artists and local poeple to help with activities so that there is something going on each week so if you’d like to lead one then we’d love to hear from you.

Everyone is welcome to come even if you’re not wanting to join in with these activities we are more than happy for you to have a drink and a cake, sit, read a newspaper, or just have a sit. We’d like to see the space being used.
